Andrew Fox - Trainer Assessor

Andrew Fox small2Andrew is the Managing Director of a very successful, project management practice who has been delivering projects for Commonwealth government and large multi-national organisations as a consultant since 2008. Prior that, he was a public servant and began his project management career in 2003 when working in government in IT. He made a career decision to move into project management; so, far from being an "accidental" project manager, he decided that this was the profession that he wanted to make his own.

He has now transitioned into lecturing for a number of reasons. Firstly, and foremost, is to "give back" to a profession that has been very kind to him and from which he has himself, gained much from.

Secondly is to improve the overall level of professionalism in project managers. He has a strong desire to see the project management profession gain status as a Chartered Profession here in Australia as it has recently in the UK and that before anyone is able to title themselves as project manager, they must hold at least a nationally accredited qualification in project management.

The third reason is because Andrew is currently undertaking a Doctorate of Project Management through the University of South Australia and by remaining engaged in academia and "learning through teaching" he hopes to enrich his thesis.

Andrew has quite literally taught hundreds of students in project management both at the masters level at university and the vocational level at TAFE. He is an engaging teacher who supports students no matter what their starting point is and can help explain key concepts clearly and succinctly.

Andrew remains fully engaged with the latest project management methodologies and techniques by being a full member of the following project management organisations:

  • Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) of which he is a Certified Practicing Project Director (CPPD) and an accredited RegPM Assessor)
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) of which he was the Canberra Chapter Vice President for more than two years and is a Certified Project Management Professional
  • Association for Project Management (APM)
  • International Centre for Complex Project Management (ICCPM)
  • International Project Management Association (IPMA)

He is also a Certified MSP Practitioner and Prince2® Practitioner.
